Neither league will make based on how its going. Thr AFLE is all flash but half the teams are awful.

I'm in Duüsseldorf pretty frequently and I don't remember ever getting any german food

German food can range from Taxi Teller (may favorite fusion of german and greek) to Sauerbraten or similar meaty food
